| Ride Description: |
| Join us on the first ride of the Cascade Training Series (CTS) for an orientation to the CTS Series and a group ride to Seward Park. This ride will go out at a leisurely pace and return at various paces, as shown below. Please see http://www.cascade.org/EandR/Ride_CTS.cfm_ for more information about the CTS Series. Riders are expected to read and be familiar with the CTS Instructions for Newcomers at _http://cascade.org/EandR/Ride_CTS_newcomers.cfm_.
This is a series of rides of increasing difficulty and length to prepare riders for our signature summer events (STP, RSVP, RAW). On subsequent CTS rides, riders start at a common location and choose between 3
speeds, Red 11-12mph, Yellow 12-14mph, Green 14-16mph. All will cycle the same route and riders are encouraged to move ahead or drop back if their current fitness level does not match the pace of the group they choose. CATS (faster rides) start at a different location. Riders are expected to maintain a minimum 2-3 foot separation while riding (no pacelines). Bring food – there will not be a restaurant stop nor support vehicle. Be sure your bike is in good condition and be prepared to deal with mechanical breakdowns: have a personal plan, cash, spare tubes, tools, pump and useful phone numbers. Leaders cannot leave the group to help with repairs. Basic maintenance and skills classes are offered through the Cascade Bicycle Club Education Foundation.
